Tractor GPS tracker: count acres worked, bill custom hiring fairly, and keep the tractor safe
Whether you run a custom hiring centre or own one tractor, knowing how many acres it covered and how long it ran settles every bill. Here’s how it works.
Acres worked, from the tractor itself
Billing custom hiring per acre usually means trusting the driver’s count. LYRA Farm records the tractor’s GPS track, and Area Worked on the LYRA web dashboard turns it into acres covered that day, using your implement’s working width.
Set the working width once for each tractor (for example, the width of the rotavator or cultivator) for an accurate figure, or ask us to set it for you.
Tip: Overlapping passes over the same ground are counted again, so very overlapping work can read slightly high.
Working hours for every tractor
See how long each tractor’s engine ran, day by day, for any date range. Useful for hourly hire, diesel checks and planning service.
Fitting it
Any auto electrician fits LYRA Farm behind the dashboard panel and wires it to the tractor’s battery, so there’s nothing to charge. Want to stop the tractor from your phone? Add the engine-cut relay and choose 12 V or 24 V to match the tractor’s battery.
Tip: Check your tractor’s battery label before choosing the relay voltage.
Keep it safe at the farm
Draw your farm or field on the map and get alerted when the tractor leaves. Turn on Safe Parking for the night: if it moves, even towed with the ignition off, you’re alerted straight away. A power-cut alert tells you if someone disconnects the tracker.
- Farm geofence alerts
- Safe Parking alarm
- Towing detection
- Power-cut tamper alert
- Ignition ON / OFF alerts
Stop misuse from your phone
If the tractor is being used without permission, send Engine Cut from the LYRA app. The engine won’t start on its next ignition attempt. Needs the relay fitted during installation.
Quick checklist
- Order LYRA Farm (add the 12 V or 24 V relay for engine cut)
- Have it fitted behind the dashboard panel
- Set each tractor’s working width
- Draw your farm as a geofence
- Check Area Worked and Working Hours before billing
