Dual-camera dashcams: safer driving and video evidence after an accident

One camera watches the road, the other watches the cabin. Here’s how that helps you check on a car live, and show what really happened after an accident.

Why two cameras instead of one

Road camerawhat happens aheadCabin cameradriver and passengers

A road-facing camera shows what happened in front of the car: who braked, who cut in, which light was red. A cabin-facing camera shows what happened inside: who was driving, whether they were paying attention, and who else was in the car.

LYRA Vision Duo has both in one unit. It mounts on the windscreen behind the mirror and runs from the car’s 12 V supply, so it’s always on with no batteries to charge.

Check on the car live, from anywhere

ROAD · LIVECABIN · LIVEOver 4GFrom anywhereBoth cameras

Both cameras stream live to the LYRA app over 4G. Open the app and see the road ahead and the cabin at the same time. That’s useful when a new driver has the family car, a cab is on a night trip, or a school bus is on its route.

GPS tracking is built in, so you can see where the car is, how fast it’s going and where it has been, next to the video.

After an accident: show what happened

RECORDED VIDEO · REPLAYED IN THE APPTrip at that momentTIME8:42:17 PMSPEED32 km/hPLACEPinned on the mapTRIPRoute before & after✓Show exactly what happenedRoad video, cabin video, speed and location from the same moment

Say a scooter cuts across in front of you at a junction and the rider later says you were speeding. Open the LYRA app and replay the recorded video from that moment. The road camera shows the scooter cutting in. The cabin camera shows you were looking ahead with both hands on the wheel.

The trip history adds the facts around it: the exact time, your speed from GPS, and the place on the map. Video, speed and location from the same moment can back up your side of the story with the other party, your insurer or the police.

Tip: Replay the video soon after any incident and note the time, so it’s easy to find again.

Safer driving every day

Knowing the cameras are there changes how people drive. Fleet owners can look in on a driver during a trip. Parents can check a new driver’s route and speed. Geofence, overspeed and ignition ON/OFF alerts tell you when the car starts, where it goes and how fast.

If someone tries to take the car, the power-cut tamper alert warns you when the unit is disconnected. With a relay installed, you can send remote engine cut so it won’t start again.

  • Road + cabin video, live over 4G
  • Recorded video you can replay in the app
  • GPS tracking and trip playback built in
  • Geofence, overspeed and ignition ON/OFF alerts
  • Power-cut tamper alert, and remote engine cut with a relay

A note on privacy

A cabin camera records people. Tell your drivers and regular passengers that the car has one, and follow the rules that apply to your business, for example for taxis and school transport.

Quick checklist

  1. Mount Vision Duo behind the mirror and connect it to 12 V power
  2. Open the LYRA app and check both live views
  3. Set geofence and overspeed alerts
  4. Tell drivers and passengers about the cabin camera
  5. After any incident, replay the video and note the time
