Bulldozer tracking: engine hours for hire billing, and alerts when a dozer moves at night
Dozers are hired by the hour and parked far from the office. Here’s how a wired tracker records every engine hour and warns you if one leaves the site.
Engine hours are your invoice
Most dozer work is billed by the hour. LYRA Dozer records each dozer’s ignition-on time, day by day, so your bill matches what the machine actually did. Open Working Hours on the LYRA web dashboard to see every dozer for any date range.
The same numbers tell you when service is due, and which dozers are standing idle.
Fit it once, inside the cab
The tracker is wired to the dozer’s battery and hidden behind a cab panel by any auto electrician. It works on 12 V and 24 V and never needs charging. Add the engine-cut relay, matched to the dozer’s battery voltage, if you want remote engine cut.
Tip: Dozers are usually 24 V, but check the battery label before you choose the relay.
Know when a dozer leaves the site, quarry or mine
Draw the site boundary on the map and get alerted when a dozer leaves. Turn on Safe Parking at the end of the shift. If a dozer is loaded onto a trailer with the ignition off, the towing alert tells you right away, and a power-cut alert tells you if someone disconnects the tracker.
- Site / quarry geofence alerts
- Safe Parking alarm
- Towing detection
- Power-cut tamper alert
- Ignition ON / OFF and overspeed alerts
Stop a dozer from your phone
With the relay fitted, send Engine Cut from the LYRA app and the engine won’t start on its next ignition attempt. Useful when a dozer is being used without your say-so.
Quick checklist
- Order LYRA Dozer (with a 12 V or 24 V relay for engine cut)
- Fit it inside the cab, wired to the battery
- Draw the site or quarry boundary
- Turn on Safe Parking after each shift
- Bill from Working Hours on the web dashboard
